Empowering Nurses To Serve on Appointed & Elected Boards

Zoom

Board service is important and it's a way to increase civic engagement!  Have you wondered how to get started? Where to learn about opportunities to serve? Wonder no more! Join us for a virtual event featuring Joni Wickham from United WE and Laurie Benson from the Nurses on Boards Coalition. United WE is a nonpartisan organization that tackles barriers to women’s economic growth and unlocks women’s economic potential through research, policy solutions, and civic engagement. Joni will tell us about the organization's Appointments Project, how they help women navigate the appointment process at the city, county, and state level - and why representation matters.  Nurses on Boards Coalition (NOBC) works to improve the health of communities through the service of nurses on boards and other bodies.  Laurie will share how boards benefit from the unique perspective of nurses. She'll also talk about the work NOBC has done developing resources to support nurses seeking board appointments.
