Is There A Nurse in the House?

A Documentary Film

When the Campaign School (planned for May 2020) had to be postponed due to Covid, we began thinking about other ways to inspire and motivate nurses to run for elected office. As fans of documentaries, we thought, “Why not create a film that would explore nurses in elected office?”

In collaboration with a budding film crew from the School of Filmmaking at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, that vision is taking shape.

Our initial interviews were limited to Zoom during the pandemic, but we have had the pleasure of visits to the North Carolina General Assembly to interview Representative Gale Adcock, to Delaware to interview Lt. Governor Bethany Hall-Long, and to the U.S. Capitol to film Representatives Eddie Bernice Johnson (TX-30) and Lauren Underwood (IL-14).

In May, our film crew traveled to Washington DC once again to film and interview nurses at the National Nurses March. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting project.
