Gale is serving her first term in the NC Senate after 8 years in the NC House and 7 years on the Cary, NC town council. She is a family nurse practitioner of 35 years, the first advanced practice registered nurse elected to the NC legislature, and the first nurse to serve in the NC Senate. Gale believes that nurses’ skill at patient advocacy is a particularly strong foundation for developing as a candidate, launching a winning campaign, and building a reputation as an effective lawmaker.

Nathan has worked in various roles as a policy advisor, lobbyist, and political consultant.

Andrew Cates is the Owner of Cates Legal Group PLLC where he provides lobbying services at the Texas Capitol and legal counsel to candidates, political action committees and nonprofits in local, state, and federal election and campaign law. Cates is one of five attorneys in the United States with a legal certification in Legislative & Campaign Law. He previously served as General Counsel and Director of Government Affairs for the Texas Nurses Association, where he spent three legislative sessions leading advocacy efforts to secure over $25 million in state funding to end the nurse shortage. Prior to that role, he served as legislative attorney for the Texas Association of REALTORS® as well as lead attorney for the Texas Association of REALTORS® Political Action Committee, the largest PAC in Texas.

Dr. Bethany Hall-Long became Delaware's 75th Governor in January 2025 after serving as Delaware’s 26th Lieutenant Governor from 2017 to 2025. Her extensive legislative career includes serving in the Delaware House of Representatives (2002-2008) and the Delaware Senate (2008-2017). She is a nurse, health scientist, and a Professor at the University of Delaware. Her unique blend of experience in academic research and public service has allowed her to be the leading voice in ensuring a stronger, healthier Delaware.

James is an organizer, a doting father of two rambunctious kiddos, a partner to a spouse who is smarter than him, and a long-time campaign, labor, and progressive operative. He lives in Minnesota. He consults for a variety of 501(c)3 and 501(c)4, labor, and political clients. James started his career as a canvasser for Sen. Paul Wellstone, and has played leadership roles in a number of statewide and national campaigns. He led Erin Murphy’s (a nurse and legislator) campaign for governor. He spent six years leading the political program at Education Minnesota (Minnesota’s NEA and AFT affiliate).

Kristin Roers is a nurse, a healthcare administrator, and a policy leader. Raised in South Dakota, after earning her master's degree in 2011, Kristin had the opportunity to move to North Dakota to work for the largest rural health system in the US. She also served as the lobbyist for the North Dakota Nurses Association for two legislative sessions, then ran for the North Dakota Senate in 2018. Senator Roers represents District 27, located in Fargo, ND. She is now the Senate Majority Caucus Leader and the Chair of the Senate State & Local Governments Committee.

Rose Hoban is the founder of North Carolina Health News (NCHN), an independent, not-for-profit, statewide news organization. Hoban took a circuitous route into journalism—after a decade of practicing nursing, she enrolled at UC Berkeley’s journalism school. In addition to a journalism degree at Berkeley, she also earned a masters in public health policy.  Her work has been recognized both regionally and nationally with numerous awards, including broadcast’s highest award – the Columbia-DuPont – and a Gracie Award.

Dylan is the Director of Legislative Affairs for the North Carolina Department of Technology. Before joining the NC Department of Technology, he was an Assistant Vice President for Government Affairs with McGuire Woods Consulting. Dylan served five terms on the North Carolina Democratic Party’s State Executive Council, where he advised and coordinated successful fundraising efforts for state and federal legislative candidates. He brings extensive experience in political campaign management and fundraising.

Senator Boldon was elected to the Minnesota Senate in 2022 and served in the Minnesota House from 2021-2023. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2002 and a Master’s of Science of Nursing degree with a focus in Education in 2008. After working in education and leadership for 10 years, she transitioned back to the bedside and currently works in an ortho/trauma general care unit. Senator Boldon is the Vice Chair of the Housing and Homelessness Prevention Committee and serves as an Assistant Majority Leader. She is also the Senate Co-Chair of the Inclusive Democracy Caucus and the Minnesota Values Project.

Erin Murphy is a registered nurse, a mother, and a Minnesotan. She practiced surgical nursing in rural Wisconsin and at the University of Minnesota Hospital. She served as an organizer, lobbyist, and eventually as the Executive Director of the Minnesota Nurses Association. Erin was elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives in 2006 where she served for 12 years. She ran for Governor in 2018 and built a people-centered movement, a vision for our future, and practiced the politics of joy. She is currently serving her second term in the Minnesota Senate.
