Lisa Summers will close the conference with a presentation titled “Nursing is Political: How Nurse Leaders Can and Should Engage. ” In it, she will discuss the unique skills and perspectives nurse leaders can (& should) share with Boards and elected officials. Lisa will share how nurse leaders can intentionally build relationships within organizations, with community leaders, and with legislators, and will speak to the need for more nurse leaders in elected office. Participants will learn how to elevate and amplify their voice and impact through increased civic engagement and what they can do to increase the representation of nurses in elected office. ONL is the Organization of Nurse Leaders for Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Vermont. They are a chapter affiliate of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL).
