North Dakota State Senate, District 27 (Fargo) — serving since 2019. Senator Kristin Roers has built her career at the intersection of nursing, healthcare leadership, and public policy. Raised in South Dakota, she earned her BS and BSN from South Dakota State University and a master’s degree in Nursing and Healthcare Systems Administration from the University of Minnesota. After moving to North Dakota to work for the state’s largest rural health system, she served as a lobbyist for the North Dakota Nurses Association—an experience that inspired her to run for the state Senate in 2018. Today, Senator Roers serves as Senate Majority Caucus Leader and chairs the State and Local Government Committee. Her commitment to public service extends beyond the legislature: in 2025, she received North Dakota’s Election Hero Award for working hands-on at every level of the election process while also helping shape the state’s election laws.
